Too many golfers give up on achieving their "Dream Goal" because they allow others to determine their future. Are you one of them? Most golfers don't even get to the start line and live their lives guessing "what could I have done if I gave it a go?" For those who did give it a go probably didn't have the knowledge, understanding or discipline to stick at it long enough. The majority gave up just as they were ready to make a break through because they didn't have clarity and an accurate map of how they were going to chieve their "Dream Goal". I have had the pleasure of working with Zaw Moe (picture left) since 2001 and currently running 2nd to Lee Westwood in the Indonesian Masters. Zaw left his home in Myanmar in the early 90's with only $700 in his pocket and his golf clubs. The advice he was given was that he was wasting his time and should get a proper job. "The advice he was given was that he was wasting his time and should get a proper job." Zaw has proved them all wrong. He has won numerous tournaments in Asia and held a full card for 10 straight years on the lucrative Japanese Tour. Major back surgery and a life threatening illness causing the loss of his playing privileges from 2004 to 2007 were set backs most people would have not have recovered from. Throughout this time Zaw has never lost sight of getting back to where he believed he belonged "on tour living the dream!" Zaw got his Asian Tour card back in 2008 and when all was going good, another injury to his wrist set him back once again in 2009. Eventually surgery was required and a few months of recuperation with no guarantee of playing competitively again. During one of our numerous phone discussions he agreed to come to Perth to develop his coaching skills with Lawrie and myself at Pro Tour Golf College for 6 weeks. On his return and being able to play injury free, Zaw game started to improve. In his own words; "the improved training regime and swing concepts that I learnt from David and Lawrie combined with the psychological performance skills that Lawrie specialises in has allowed me to play competitively on the Asian Tour again." "the improved training regime and swing concepts that I learnt from David and Lawrie combined with the psychological performance skills that Lawrie specialises in has allowed me to play competitively on the Asian Tour again." The key to this blog is if you have true belief in your golfing ability and you have the necessary coaching and mentoring from experts, you are going to help you achieve your "Dream Goals" "YOU CAN DO IT!" Good golfing and best wishes to Zaw in the final two rounds at the Indonesian Masters. David and Lawrie Comments are closed.
