Today was the final day of the Indonesian Golf Association Series (1) held at the Damai Indah Golf -BSD Course. All the top amateurs were in attendence and the conditions were a strong test for the golfers. One player Ian Andrew from Bali stood head and shoulders above the rest with scores of 68, 69, 67 a total of 12 under and won the tournament by 10 shots! This result combined with his solid performance in the Indonesian Open last week at the Emeralda Golf Course makes him the No.1 ranked amateur in the country. Ian attributes his awesome form to the 5 weeks of intensive training with Pro tour Golf College in Perth, Western Australia. In his own words "The training I did at PTGC with Lawrie Montague and David Milne has made me more confident about my golf game on and off the course. Making the cut last week in the Indonesian Open for the 1st time was a big step in believing in myself and my golf game. I would like to thank all my PTGC family and hope to train with them again soon". Strong finishing last rounds by Jordan Irawan (72) and Rinaldi (67) enabled them to secure 2nd and 3rd spot respectively. Both have also spent time training at the unique world class player development program over the last 6 months. In the ladies section Ika Woro Palupi prevailed against over night leader Agnes R. Sudjasmin (Pictured) by one shot. Agnes who has turned her game around by spending the last 10 weks at Pro Tour Golf College and has significantly improved her mental game. This was evident in the last round where after shooting a 42 on the front nine turned it around and scored a brillant 5 under 31 on the second nine to challenge Ika for the tournament. Agnes commented " I was able to focus on my target and not worry about my swing as I had done previously on course. I now know how to periodise my program to prepare for tournaments and have to thank Lawrie and David for that." Young juniors Victoria Chandra and Gavrilla Arya (Pictured) finished 3rd and 6th respectively and the have also trained and used PTGC's training programs. Well done to everyone mentioned above from all at Pro Tour Golf College and hope to meet you in Jakarta when Lawrie and I are there on 11th to 13th April. Good Golfing, David & Lawrie 25/4/2012 05:37:23 am
